RXT Breakin
I just got my new toy
How long should I break this ski in for? has 7 hours now and have done some short sprints up to 50 on speedo.
What is the going rate for the dealers to charge for the 10 hour check.
Also what is the best way to change your oil in this ski yourself?
Thanks

going rate for 10 hour service is appx 2 hours labor plus parts .... anywhere from 150-250
to change the oil i would recommend the TEMPO Oil boy. u need to suck the oil out thru the dipstick tube.
CRITICAL!!.... oil level must best in the middle of the beds on the dipstick when hot.
break-in..... go WOT... nail is up to 60_ mph every 10 minutes or so for maybe 4-5 seconds.... don't baby it too much, let it see the full RPM band, but vary the throttle and don't hold it at any speed for too long... but definitely push it a little more to WOT 7900+ rpms and 60+ mph for a few seconds and then let off for a few minutes and do it again
break-in is 10 hours.... after that, ride it like u stole it.... make sure u bring it in for service at 10 hours or at the BARE MINIMUM change the oil and filter.

whoops, didn't see ur post RXPbeast... sounds like a prop or wear ring problem. you need to remove the pump and check things out. at a bare minimum get under the ski with a flash light and see how things look... let us know what u find.

Well... I have concluded my testing and diagnosis of what the problem is, after severly smoking a 04 Yamaha GP1300R and an 05 RXP, and GPSing it at 66.8MPH ... I think the speedometer on the dash is off by several miles per hour... Im used to the RXP so i guess it was just my mind thinking it wasnt running like it should. But thanks for the suggestions!

no shit!! stock RXT?? pretty nice GPS number there. spray some WD-40 on that speedo wheel, that'll give it an extra few mph next time out, lol
