06's RPM Limited For Breakin?
I believe I read somewhere that they heard the 06's were limited (RPMs) for the first ? hours... Is this true?? It might explain why I only ran 7400rpms (64mph on speedo) on my 2 or 3 accel. runs yesterday during breakin (I have 3 hours on the ski). Just wondering if that is the case or if I have any issues...

this remains to be a mystery.... we were told direct by BRP that the machine does run some kinda different curves and programming during break-in...
but just a few weeks ago while riding with an RXP... it wouldn't turn anything more than 7900 with a full riva stage 2.... well during that ride he hit 10 hours, and the rpms went up instantly
i'd say there has to be SOME truth to it

I remember when I bought my RXP I was all over the forums as It wasn't performing the way everyone said it should. GPSed about 65 at five hours and only would turn 7500-7700 rpm's. then I just waited with discuss because I thought I bought a bad ski and then one day out around the 10 hours it just became a different ski. I can't explain it. It wasn't like BOOM and it was faster, but it got to its best stock speeds of around 69mph.
So I bet there is some truth to this!!!!

Thanks guys,

with my 05 RXT the first 3 hours it would not turn more than 7800, then it whent up to 7950 finally at around 4.5 hours it is turning 8100 at 66.1mph
I was worried at first then shibby told me to run it a little harder at the 3 hour mark as I only went WOT a few times for a few seconds

I have an 06 and while I was trying to break it in nicely I had a run in with a couple of fast ski's and I couldn't resist so at 5 hrs it was hammer time!!!! Right to 8100 rpm's with an average of 70-71 mph(gps'd). Thw only mods I had were a 4" blower and the Riva pro block offs. Now its at 8160-8180 @73-74 mph with the addition of filling the holes in the ride plate and the riva 2 degree wedge. I added a boost gauge to see where it was at and it is consistantly at 7 psi. I do not believe there are any computer limitations for the break in period because I cant have the only ski that flys like that starting at 5 hrs!

Saw it happen on my friends 05 RXP with a Riva Stage 2. Before the 10 hour mark it would not go over 7900. As soon as it hit the 10 hour mark it went to 8100.
Didn't happen on my 06 RXP. From 0 hours its been in the 8100 range.
