PPG v's Riva
Was over in Fort Lauderdale a couple of weeks ago so popped into both PPG and Riva to buy a few bits.
Must say, was REALLY impressed with the service received at PPG. Really treated us well, and made you feel like they actually cared about our business.
Thanks especially to Armin in the Parts Dept, got me exactly what I needed and even boxed it up, with polyfoam packaging! so that it didn't get broken on the flight back to the UK. - BRILLIANT SERVICE!
And then we went to Riva... Hmm!!
Bought a couple of bits, but the staff didn't seem to understand the concept of customer care. Much more interested in chatting among themselves, and having their tea breaks. About four staff ignored us at the desk before one girl bothered to eventually speak to us
So, from me it's
PPG 1 - Riva ZERO
Did I just hit Riva on a bad day?

riva is very busy, it seems like they are taking on more business than they can process so i'd imagine customer service suffers a bit.

I have always received great customer service from both PPG and Riva.
It's just that the owner of PPG can be a bit radical at times giving the false sense that PPG is run poorly. The team at PPG are great people.

Well it was a Saturday, and it was busy, but surely that's even more reason to serve all the customers.
I guess I just had such high expectations of Riva, since they are such a well known company, even here in the UK, that made me slightly disappointed.
