The Idea behind putting the battery opposite the intercooler was to get more weight towards the back of the ski and counter balance the weight of the intercooler. It was a pain in the ass to run such long cables to the battery. I moved mine last year to a spot in front of the motor. It really makes things less complicated and running ground and power wires from the battery is a piece of cake now. I have not noticed any ill effects from moving the battery. In theory it was a good idea but in reality just doesn't make any difference.
