More skeg results
Well, i finally got some results with the skegs on Careys ski.
With buddydoo's ski we saw a 2+ MPH gain. I tried to do better and came up with the bright idea that if i made the distance of the points at the front of the skegs 1/8" wider than the rear that the column of water flowing between the skegs would become compressed towards the rear causing the water to push down, hence lift the rear of the ski. I guess it didn't work out like i theorized as i only saw a 1.3 MPH gainIt looks like putting them dead parallel with one another is the way to go.
Oh well, thats why im doing the R&D for you guys. I learn from my mistakes.
I guess 1.3 is still nothing to sneeze at.
Also, other big pluses is the handling and straightline tracking thru chop is unreal. Also, one of the things i like best about the skegs is even when on the buzzer i can hang off the back in superman position and have zero porpoising

I guess putting them in the slight "V" configuration added a little drag under there... good theory though. I gotta get some of those as soon as you have them available...

Yes, i thought it was a good theory too, but parallel is definately the way to go.
Also, i think the faster your ski is the more gains you will see from these.
Wonder what they will do on my monster?
