S/C gear
Doing the Vortech Hi-Po S/C impellar. Before I put it all back together a friend and I were wondering if there is a high performance gear that is available for the supercharger. Or just put the RXP gear on it. This is for a 03 limited. While we have done that far would like to find this out.

swede... you can't change the gear on the SC shaft unless you open up the pto housing and change the gear on the motor as well...
maybe u want to go that route? not sure... but it's not a simple plug and play

So you can't change the gear on the actual impellar shaft that is just outside the supercharger housing? To a smaller gear ratio to get more boost.

nope... there are two gears... 16 tooth or 17 tooth. You need to stick with what your machine was equipped with. if you want to change it, you need the overdrive gear set and need to change the gears behind the PTO housing as well to properly mate up with the SC shaft gear

dang!!!!! ha ha ha Well can't say I didn't try. I knew that the basic difference in the 215 and the 185 is the mainly the super charger gearing and was hoping I could do the gear thing but if you say there is no way I can deal with it. HAHA HA Was already invisoning the power. HA HA HA Appreciate your advice on this. Thanx.

Ken, this is what you need to run the RXP gear in the GTX SC.

well truthfully have a real good mechanic doing it but what will this over drive gear accomplish. as far as gains in boost and power. Plus by doing it will my drive train be able to handle it.

Your drive train will handle it well. You will get more boost which will equate to more power. In my opinion anyone with a GTX should upgrade to this gear setup. Oh, it comes with a new clutch too

Hmmmmm--I did not know the extra 30 hp on the RXP was the supercharger gearing---here all this time I thought it was the intercooler. One learns something every day.
