    Have a few ??'s about a recently purchased 96 sl-900

    I bought the ski for 600, It has a blown pto rod and cylinder. Cases are fine and I'm thinking of upgrading it to a 1050. Questions are, other than the jets in the carbs, what is is different other than the cylinders, jets, etc. Would this be a good upgrade?? What would top speed be expected from a 1050 versus a 900? I am trying to keep from junking this thing, and right now I am trying to way my options. I know if i put 1k in a motor, I will have a 1600 dollar ski thats only probably worth 2k running excellent. The ski is in near mint condition other than a few scratches here and there. Please guys give me some info, or maybe any parts you may have..

    All it takes are the pistons and some bored cylinders to convert and of course a little jetting time. I know the 1050 also ran a hair more timing across the board. It also ran the 40's versus the 38 Keihins
    When new and running right the 900 ran in the 60 area and the 1050 in the 62 area.
    The 900 has a bore of 74.5 and the 1050 is 81mm.
    Anyway, VERY doable upgrade.
