96 gti continuous beep
hey guys i'm new to seadoo and have a problem my ski just keeps beeping even when the lanyard is disconnected any ideas on whats wrong????its a 96 gti 717

yup sorry fordot to say that it runs fine and proforms fine it just beeps and its driving me crazy after you stop it and take out the lanyard it still beeps

so does it eventually quit or do you have to disconnect the battery?

have you checked to see if your thermoswitch is connected? (it's located at the top of the head, between the spark plugs) If somehow the thermoswitch wire is grounded to something, it will buzz.
If the wire is connected, try pulling it off and see if the buzz stops. If it stops, then you have a faulty thermoswitch. To double check, ground the wire (with the lanyard connected) and it should buzz.

That's strange. I've never come across that before, nor have I heard of it. Sounds like the MPEM going bad. Either disconnect the buzzer so you don't have to hear it and hope the MPEM doesn't go bad.
Does it buzz again as soon as you hook the battery back up? Or does it have to run first?

yes it does start beeping as soon as you reattach the battery but its like a softer beep if you press the start stop button with out the lanyard attached it will start beeping loud again until you disconnect the battery WHATS UP WITH THIS SKI ????

update i check the temp sensor and its not that i was reading through the manual and it said i could have a bad buzzer replaced with known good one and same thing tried do the self diag as explained in manual and it saw to pree the st/stop switch 5 times and this will put into self diag but when i push the st/stop switch it keeps beeping and i cant determine the codes if it has any whats up with this any and all comments are welcome i know someone has had to have run across this before
