Help! Problems with my GP1300R!!!
Hi Guys,
I got this big issue with my 2003, GP1300R.
I have removed the cat. and installed a Jetworks O-plate. (with sensor chip)
Now my jet only runs about 40 mph. and the acceleration is very poor.!
Is runs 5500 rpm on water and 8000 rpm when it´s out of the water???
I have checked the complete exhaust system, and there is nothing wrong to see.?
Anyone who might knows what it is?
PART 2.
I don´t think it´s a sensor... When it´s on land, it runs normally (8000 rpm) and in water, poor acceleration, low top speed. (5500 rpm)
That´ could not be a damaged cooling water-sensor, right?
P.S. The yamaha info-computer tells me nothing... everything is fine...
This is very strange... And right now is the weather good in Denmark. Talking about bad timing.Last edited by jesperducati; 08-06-2007 at 05:56 PM.

Did the cat fail? Were all the pieces recovered?
Could also be a water leak at the O-plate into the exhaust.

did you use new gaskets when you installed the o plate and were the surfaces 100% clean..
some will reuse gaskets there but they can fail its just a thought

Could be leaking inside the pipe and not outside. Also take the water box out for inspection and make sure unaccounted for pieces are not lodged.

Hi again.
I have dismount the exhaust... nothing to see, but the D-plate was a little bit wet on the top... gaskets seems to be ok. but can not see if that should be the problem!?
There is a sensor near the waterbox. Could that have some influence on my problem, if it was damaged?
By the way, when the jet is on land, when I give it full throttle, then it stutters / make explosions or what you call it... is that normal?
Can really not see what the problem is? Please help...Last edited by jesperducati; 08-06-2007 at 05:42 PM.

When I did the d-plate on my 03. I reused the gaskets(they were in perfect shape). But, I did use copper spray a gasket on re-install. Ive havent had any leaking problems in 90+ hours.
Im sure the gaskets wouldnt be reuseable again with the spray gasket on them, but I have no intention of taking it apart again for anything.
On land, you will get some strange sounds when you give it throttle. It's so easy to hit the rev limiter with no load on the prop.
