How can I tell what impeller I have?
I am rebuilding my 96 SL900 with a new 1050. I took the pump off and noticed the impeller looked really cool. Polished and all that. Also at one point the ski used to have a team Solas sticker on it. Now it is possible that the original owner just put their sticker on and called it a day..... Or did he. How can I tell? Also is there any clearances or seals I should replace while the pump is out. I went crazy and ordered every seal, gasket, and o-ring for the entire ski from sharps but is it worth taking apart the pump. Also I noticed that ones of my skis rattle while idling out of the water. Is that an indication of to much play in the pump? Thanks again all.....

Can I just split the pump without destroying any seals or gaskets?

If you're going to take the pump down, I'd replace the bearings and seals. They are inexpensive and simple to change, good insurance.

Yep, he's right. ^^^^ And if it's a shiny polished impeller, almost chrome looking, it's a Solas for sure. What's the numbers on it? There's an impeller applications chart for Skat, Solas, and Nu Jet that BD posted in the tech section. We can find out what it is by the numbers.

Yes, it is polished like chrome. I haven't removed it yet. Where are the numbers located? Should the drive shaft pull out of the impeller or is it clipped in?
