Drain gas. Remove tank, then flywheel cover and flywheel. Remove inner flywheel cover, stator screws and stator wires retaining screws. Split elec. box and remove stator wire harness. Tie a rope to the ends of the wires and pull the old stator out through the front of the boat, leaving enough rope to pull the new wires back through. (this saves having to fish wires or squeeze your arms under the exh. pipe) Tie rope to new wires and pull the harness towards the back of the boat. Secure wire harness retaining screws. Line up mark on stator plate with case halves "seam" line and tighten the stator plate screws. Clean off old silicone gasket from both covers and block and re-silicone them prior to assembly in reverse order.

Wow that sounds like a Biotch! I still don't think it's possible on my 92 it has a huge bulkhead right in front of the stator cover Z

Z, it's not that bad. I did it in 2.5 hours maybe. I do have my oil tank removed which makes it much easier. And I was taking my time to prevent issues later. What bulkhead is in your way? Got a pic? I've never peaked into a 92-93 hull.

Spray and spray the bolts with good pentrant oil. I also used a 3/8's impact, Came right out, first time took me 2 hours. second time it only took about 45 mins. Not hard to do in a SL hull. SLT I think it is a little harder. But keep in mind I have tripples!!!!

Those bolts shouldn't be that tight, 78 in lbs. Get a good metric shallow socket, and a long handled ratchet if you don't have an impact.

Cheater bar and have a friend help hold the socket on.
