New Info,more ?????
A little more relaxed today to dig into the ski closer. Thanks for the input so far. But this sucker got real hot! The waterbox melted the floatation, and the steering cable. And the front head was discolored. Is there anything else beside a blocked grate that could cause this?A Screen Somewhere? Started a new Thread because looking from a whole new direction at it now. Thank,Dan

If a higher load than normal is the cause of this happening, could it possabily be a bad bearing or something of that nature. Just throwing something out there. I have never seen or even heard of something like this happening before.

That looks like blocked cooling to me. My Kawi standup got a fitting plugged from little rocks/sand, and blistered the head, exhaust system, and anything in contact with it, just like you've got.
The good news is it's easy to check. Pull lines, shoot air through them, and listen. Easy!
Not to say you don't have a fuel problem as well; I lost a stack of pistons to the lame 16 liter/hour pump Polaris put on the very early skis.....

blocked cooling is my vote. When the waterbox gets hot you know it's an issue of water not flowing.
You should pull the other heads, you might find some more scoring in another cylinder.

Couple things to look for. Obviously a blocked intake screen at the pump. Obstructed cooling hoses. A thermostat that's stuck closed. A popoff valve stuck closed. Possibly (but doubful) a stinger fitting screen plugged up on the exh. pipe. Or a collapsed waterbox exit hose.

If it were a blocked water passage or a thermostat it would make me think ALL cylinders would discolor.

Although I guess a partial blockage could do it??

Thanks for the added input,I guess I'll run through the whole cooling system and check it all.I've put on about 20 hour or more after buying this one and replacing the back piston and rebuilding carbs. And have beat and rode it hard. The girls may have seen the hot warning and thought it was talking about them.
I'll let you know what I find if anything.

I would be looking real hard for a cooling (water) issue. With that kind of heat concentrated in those certain areas, you're bound to find something wrong. Just my $.02

Take all your hoses off and inspect them .I have had hoses separate and close off internally when water at pressure is fed through the hose .It blisters from the inside and restricts flow .If unsure change the lot .Check thermostat and pop off valve .I would cut the centre out of the thermostat if your water temps are high and run with that .Check to see also if the gauze in the jet unit that feeds the water isn't blocked
Cheers
