Help Shibby Pick a Color for a Lightning
Slowly becoming a power junkie, so I need to put some of the adrenaline to the pavement. Was looking for something powerful, mod-able, and sharp looking, but not quite as expensive as lets say a Supercharged X5 or a Ram with a Viper engine...
Wanting performance combined with towing abilities, I like everything the SVT Lightning has to offer and test drove a couple recently and found a few local private sales.
What color do you like most? Each photo is labelled with it's paint code name.

Shibby - sonic blue is the only color you can get....it flat out rocks.
There's one on eBay down in Texas currently too.

Did a mac daddy magnaflow system on a white one. Looked awsome. My cousin had a silver one but the white looked so clean. x-pipes and h-pipes sound like a 10 cylinder, but placement is key for the stump pulling torque curve.

after i get some more feedback from you guys on color i'll let you know the colors i'm between.
Pete... i've been all over ebay watching every single one... prices vary so much it's crazy, and they really retained their value some of them from MSRP when they were brand new in 04. some ask 25k for the 04s... some ask 30k for the 04s... then u see 02s for 24 grand, and 03s for 22 grand...
alot of options to weight, varying mileage, colors, stock vs modified... i'd love to get one bone stock with low miles and mod it myself... found one with 5600 original miles local to here, mint flawless condition, feet never touches the mats, all covered in rubber mats and husky liners, but a price goes with that of course...
being patient and waiting for the right one. I'd guess that you probably know alot about these Pete from the mustang world since you find alot of cobra and L owners on the same forums.... am i doing the right thing getting involved with this truck?

All depends what you want it for
I can't answer that LOL
Someone much smarter than me once said (And this applies to Lightning's too) :
The two best mods for a Mustang are a garage and a winter beater.
Check out www.svtperformance.com and www.svtoa.com for some good feedback. I know there was something wrong with the early GenII's - I just don't recall what, I think it was something in the heads.
If you want a sports car that can haul a 2place ski trailer....then you're definitely in the right market.
Just remember, unless you have deep pockets modifying too many toys at once has you eating Kraft Mac 'n Cheese and those noodle in a cup meals

yea i hear ya... i'm all over the SVT forums, and nloc.net, and couple others... have learned alot
03-04 are slightly better trucks because they added more threads to the head for spark plugs... prior years were blowing the plugs right out with some mods i believe. also late 90s saw intercooler failings in the Gen IIs... axle ratio in 03+ is 3.73 vs 3.43 i guess in 02 down... and just a general hotter tune in the 03+..
Sirhc7897 on the forum here has been helping me out alot with info as he owns a lightning as an everyday driver and pulls his ski with it

It was the plug issue I was thinking of.
As for pulling toys - you can't beat it. It was ultimately why the Typhoon and Syclone's failed for GM.
I looking at a Lightning at one point - but I need a truck with 4wd....if I didn't, I'd be all over the 2007 Saleen F150.....DROOL.
