Commercial Tiny-Tach
Is this unit worth a darn. Or should I get the PET2100?? The price difference is quite a bit. But I want a unit that will last.

My TinyTach is still running at 8 hours! It freaked out 2x already, had to cut it open and stab around in it with a scalpel to reset it both times, then reseal it with rtv. It fogged up from being left out in the rain last week, but that cleared out.
If I had it to do over again, I think I'd buy the PET. And I'm a cheap SOB....

Yes, I believe the TinyTach Commercial is the only one that works on a Polaris, due to the 120 deg firing order. Tried the other one that TinyTach says works with triples, but it didn't work w/Polaris.
On the plus side, it does update every 1/2 sec, rather than every 2 sec.
On the neg side, the Commercial model gets "freaked" out easily. I didn't have this problem with the regular model, but even being warned by ZMann and the guy at TinyTach, I still "overdrove" it and freaked it out.

I did get the non comercial tach to work, it takes some playing with it to get it to work, but I would stay away from it beer and get the pet.

Tiny tach for the Polaris specially the early stators is a piece of crap! Who makes a Product that the common fix is to rip of the face dig out the waterproofing and push a paper clip into the circuit board to reset it? Well Tiny Tach thats who you completely compromise the waterproofing when u overdrive it and that happens constantly! POS in my Book! Z
