Keel Guard - Will it slow me down
I just put Keel guard on my 2007 sportster. Will that slow the boat down. It looks great and does protect it for the very few times I beach it. didn't think about drag though.
Thoughts?

Please Post Pics!
It might cause a little drag but I don't think it will be a big difference. Please post pics of your keel guard on your sportster. I'm thinking about getting one also.

I think it's a good idea, and the drag would be negligible. You'd never feel it; one hundreth of one mile an hour at the most. The keel is out of the water anyway at speed, and if any of the guard is in the water, you never know, it could even have a spoiler-type effect that could actually give you speed (but again, about a hundreth of a mile an hour, so you'd never know).

I have keelshield and it definetly helps if you beach your boat,I got stuck on a sandbar once, and had no scratches whatsoever!
i'd get the keelguard if i could do it over again(thinner profile i think), but definetly worth it...

I've had a Keel Guard on my boat for the past 2 summers.....it does not slow me down at all. It is wel worth it if you plan on beaching your boat!!!
I just hit 56.4 mph on my gps with only minor mods!!!
