Need A New Intake Grate
First this is all GEO`s fault I talked to him at the BUG then my grate broke
ok now the second one has broken the bolt on the back (ride plate) pulled through the grate this grate was used so it might have been weak but this sucks I am going to get a new stock one Friday and try again
has anyone looked at making one out of stainless? the stock aluminum one must be made in China because it is weak

I've seen where a couple of grates have done this same thing. The aluminum is real thin and installing and removing them a couple of times causes the piece that the bolt head contacts to break. Is that what you are describing Shhr? What probably happens is as you tighten the bolt the material between the bolt head and the insert gets stressed. I'm wondering if some people are overtightening for fear of loosing the grate.

yea Harry that is when it broke
NC is correct about the grate this one was a used one that Shibby sent me when I installed it I noticed that the bolt hole was not perfectly round and this is where it pulled the bolt through it, I am picking up a new one today
I need to look in the manuel for torque specs or does anyone know what they should be torqued to

Ahh, you got it from Steve. He had one that he sold on eBay, a while back, that had this very same problem. The whole center area of the bolt hole was gone(hope that makes sense). This isn't the same one is it? I bidded on it thinking I could get a washer welded into it but the bidding got way to high for a hunch.
