Corrosion?
How do I get the corrosion out of the water jackets? is there a liquid that can dissolve it? What about CLR..? anyone ever cleaned these up without scraping or sand blasting?

Not sure if you can simply flush corrosion away with a chemical. But a fresh water flushing after each ride will eliminate that from happening again.

I know, I just want to know how to remove the aluminum oxide layer that was on there when I bought it.

I know I use murodoc acid (wow dont know if that is spelled right) to clean up corrision. Alot of marine dealers in the FL keys recommend using it when cleaning parts. I just soaked an old pump that had a frozen impeller lodged in it. The murudoc acid helps break down corrision that cause the metals to fuse from electrolisis. You can pick it up at most hardware stores. It is best to let parts soak in it for about 10 to 15 minutes. I wouldnt suggest dumping it in your ski though, but rather pulling the parts and soaking. Hope this helps,

I believe barefoot is speaking of muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid), and you can get it usually where there's any pool supplies. Be CAREFUL with this stuff, though. I dissolved pennies for fun when I was younger with it, at full strength it takes only a few minutes. Be careful when diluting with water, remember add the acid TO the water.
Take care when using this if you want to give it a try. I have no idea about the benefits of removing corrosion, just wanted to say be careful. Don't mix with chlorine bleach for "extra cleaning power" either unless you're wearing a gas mask.
