Kawasaki and 2008
With the introduction of the 2008 models just around the corner, early indications don't look too promising for Kawasaki. In the world of motorcycles Suzukis new 1340cc Hyabusa appears to have what it takes to re-claim the Open Streetbike Class from Kawasaki's ZX-14. The new Suzuki B-King may be the quickest stock streetbike yet made, easily outclassing everything else in its field.
Indications are that the 2008 PWC from Kawi will offer nothing more than graphic and perhaps color changes. Sea-doo is going to up hp and has a few surprises ready for 2008 (with marketing approval) Yamaha will be introducing a new GPR replacement and Hydrospace will have a 300+hp race ready runabout ! There is rumor that Honda might try to rise from the dead with new product too. The 1999 Ultra 150 had a reign that lasted 5 years (until the 2004 RXP). The Ultra 250, which was hyped as the new "King" in 2007, appears about to be de-throned in only one year. It will be interesting to see who will wear the crown in 2008 !

personally im sticking to my guns on my 15f. all ive noticed in the pwc world is insane horsepower. but when they add horse power they add crazy weight and size. wheres the fun in a 900lb boat. whats nexts hitting 270 and having a dry weight of 1/2 a ton? just my opinion but i never thought the ultra would last at top(if you could even call it the top of the couchs) personally i think it was too little or too mcuh for that matter. if they kept the weight light like the 15f and didnt make such a good rough water hull(after all we dont all race off shore).the ultra would have been a great thing. keeping the power up,the weight down and top speed just legal and im happy. as of the current trend the market just isnt providing what i would want in a ski.
