Just bought a 2000 PRO 1200
After 4 years of searching I just found a mint 2000 PRO 1200 with 30 hrs locally. Paid a little more than I wanted to for it but oh well. Took it out for a short ride yesterday and what a difference from my 2000 SLX. It sprays you every time you make a sharp turn. It has the spray deflector in the front but so still get soaked. Is there any way to chage it so you don't get sprayed? It is going to take me a while to get used to it but I think I am going to like it. The only thing that is wrong with it is the trim doesn't work. Is there a fuse for the trim or do you think the trim motor is shot?
What other differences are there between a 2000 SLX and a 2000 Pro 1200 other than the hull. I noticed the oil and gas tank set up is different as well. I didn't know it was going to have a smaller tank which kind of sucks because i have to get gas on the lake now because of the smaller tank.

You can try a different wedge and get the nose up.
On the trim, press and hold the bilge button and then try the trim.
Let us know what happens.

I won't be able to try it until tomorrow night because i have to work tonight. Should I change out the wedge and use the one from my SLX?

You can give it a try and see what happens. I don't remember what the difference was between the two but I think you'll find it more to your liking.
As I recall the reason for the smaller tank is to accomodate the triple pipes.

I have an '01 and when I put a different rideplate on it the spray was dramatically reduced. If your trim isn't working, maybe the nozzle is pointed down (negative trim) which will drive the bow into the water more, causing extra spray.

When you put the rideplate on did you notice any loss of handling?
My 785 and 1200 both shower me at pretty much all speeds, but for the handling I throw on some water goggles and ride it like a rental...
