Green Wheel Boost
What is the minimum boost I should expect/accept to come out of the green wheel? I have the xs cooler and riva rear intake. I was out yesterday and got a solid 8.0-8.1 lbs at 8000-8050 rpms and the occasional 8.2 lbs. I know I have a leak because I seal the intercooler couplers to the pipes usually but 2 out of 4 weren't sealed yesterday. Just checking on what the minimum should be. This is on the Hudson River and the temps were in the 70s for air and water. I'm thinking the lowest (while running properly) should be 9.0-9.5 but the average should be 9.5-10.0. Someone give me an idea here. I want to know at what boost I can finally rest assured that most, if not all, the leak(s) is/are gone. By the way, there was no heat soak when I got the boost reading. I didn't check the humidity. The elevation is very low and is near sea level. I'm going to put different pipes on tomorrow, seal them up, and re-test on a lake.

Went out today. Air was 78°, water was 77°, and humidity was about 50%. At first I got 9.3 lbs of boost but after about 10 minutes it would hold steady at 9.0-9.1 lbs. This was all at 8100 RPMs (stock ECU). Is this about right?

I would say that would be about right for the temps you were running in. I know when i tested it in high 70's temps 4 months back i got a solid 9.7 PSI at 8100 RPM's. This was with a Riva intercooler though.

I just re-read the little 'ad' in the online store. I thought it was 10 psi at 8100 not 8500. I'm pretty happy with the results then. I will have to figure out my intercooler setup before I can get solid results. I might need a s/c adapter from Riva too for their rear intake just so I can have the peace of mind that there are no leaks in that department. The funny part of it all is that I got 8000 rpms mostly and some 8050 at 8.2 lbs of boost on Thursday and then today I gained 100 rpms and 1 lb of boost but got the same speed.

Identical conditions today. Same rpms. LOWER boost by a couple tenths. Gained 1.3 mph.......

You will find that boost will vary several tenths from day to day depending on atmospheric pressure, humidity, temp, etc.

That's the funny part. Temps and humidity were the same both days. I'm sure there are several other factors that vary..I have no problem with gaining 1.3 mph with lower boost
