Tough to steer.
My 1998 SLXH is tough to steer when I am at WOT. When I am not its easy to steer. Having recently purchased, is this normal or not? My dads Tigershark 770 is easy to turn at WOT and will throw you without thinking twice.

The speed of each craft has a lot to do with the ease of steering. More thrust, more difficult steering.
But check the cable for fraying and be sure to lubricate it, the bar bushings and pump components that turn.
Check that the bars are straight while the boat is traveling in a straight line, if not be sure to adjust.
