"Limp Mode" Help
Well, I got my Limited up and running and for the most part it runs good. It accelerates, cruises, and runs WOT with no issues.
Problem is, it will occasionally go into the limp mode. This only happens when I let off from a full speed run or make a hard right turn. I'm thinking low oil, so I checked it and added some. It appeared to get better but the problem is still there.
So, who has dealt with limp mode problems and what was your fix.
Thanks,
Jeff
Edit: Just remembered... as I'm cruising I can see occasional flashes of the red warning light on the lower right gauge... but no beep.Last edited by 05Limited; 07-20-2007 at 12:49 PM.

no error codes?
What all did you just get done doing?

Jeff, due to the problem happening under hard acceleration and hard right turns i would say its an oil pressure issue. Connect an oil pressure gauge to the port at the back of the head and see what going on.
It could be as simple as a bad oil sensor. I hope your that lucky!

No error codes. My original engine broke both #1 intake valves. I purchased a new engine and installed my PTO cover, front cover, intake manifold, exhaust manifold and engine mount brackets. So the only two sensors that are not the original ones are the CTS and OSPS that came on the new engine.

Replace both oil sensors. Had the same thing. Wasn't sure which one was bad so I did both. 53.00 no problem.

Jerry... is this the oil pressure port you mean?
Curt... I've pulled the OPS from the original block and will install it. I have another OPAS on a spare oil seperator and will install it also.
Thanks guys,
Jeff
(Note to self... get manicure when done with 4-tec install)

I removed both AF and Boost gauges to install mechanical temp sensor and oil pressure sensor.

James... I agree with your idea of an oil pressure gauge. Right now I'm wondering "bad sensor or low pressure"... not a good feeling
