Traction mats for a SL750
All,
I am planing on Painting the ski this winter, so I dont wan tto sink $100 into mats for the next 3 month. What do you guys (and gals) recommend for the mats for short term use. Has anyone had luck with sheets of tool box liner or the like?

Go to Hydroturf's website, and order a sheet of "B" stock. $25 a sheet, it's a medium gray with a diamond pattern in it. I did 2 kawi standups with it, or $12.50 a ski! I would think (but not sure) that one sheet would do a full sit-down with some to spare.
Try to take your existing pads off in one piece, then trace them onto cardboard. Use the cardboard template to cut your new pads.
To take your old pads off, I used acetone and a plastic scraper. The one that auto body shops sell for mixing bondo works great. Work at it like skinning a deer. Tension on the pad, and press the scraper into the glue area.

I just took my bike down to Speedliner Tuesday. Got the ski back today. I got it in bright red. Cost me 60 bucks. Has a non skid rubbery feel to it and it has a lifetime warranty. I recommend someone have their ski done with that spray in bedliner. Wont come off, wont rot, most places offer lifetime warranties, fairly cheap, and looks awesome. Tomorrow I'll grab some pics of it.

Did you have the whole ski covered in that stuff? I have always wondered if it would be worth painting the bottom of my ski with that stuff to help with beaching!
