Mirrors came off
I had both of my mirrors come off while riding, luckly i was able to grab them before they went into the water . I honestly dont use the mirrors and think they are a waste on the ski. My main concern is it looks really crappy w/o the mirrors on it which cover up holes in the top hood. From what I can see it appears as if three rivot looking things on the back or mirror just plug into three holes in the fiberglass to locate the mirror. It does not look like a very good mounting method and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this also. If so, what are you doing to properly secure the mirrors so they dont come off while riding again. Thanks

I have never heard of anybody else having this problem. If your ski is still under warranty, I'd take it back. It sounds like a defect.

I cant believe I didnt even mention what ski.
Its is an 06 RXP that I purchased used from a member here on this forum. The ski is not under warranty
. I will try and take some pictures when I get home this evening and perhaps it will give a better visual of my problem. Thanks for the replies so far.

Ok here is a few pictures. From what I can tell, the three rivots plug into the three holes in the fiberglass. The fit does not feel like a press-fit type applications. Any other suggestions for keeping the mirrors attached?
I am assuming that this is how Seadoo mounts these from the factory. Or is this perhaps a one-time fix that is not from Seadoo? Just seems like a poor way of anchoring these to the ski. Thanks for any input.

WOW, It is a easy fix. Just go get new rivets and buy the backing washers for the size rivets you need. You will have to unscrew the mirror and remove it from its mounting plate. Rivets the mounting plate back to the hood. Useing the new rivets with the backing washers. then replace mirror with springs back on.
That suxs. If you need any help! Call me! Austin
.

You know what else would look cool? Make yourself a nice billit piece to fit over that area. I never used my mirriors and you have a machine shop... The carbon hoods don't have them. LOL.
