2006 RXT - Learning Key ?'s
I know, most of you see no use for the Learning key, but I have alot of family that will be riding my RXT, and I want them to not have the full power of it.
Right now it limits you at 5500 RPM's, which equates to a top speed of maybe 35MPH. That is tooooo slow, I was hoping it could be increased to 6500RPM, to take the speed up to about 50.
I talked to the Dealer about upping the power on the Learning Key just little, and thy said it can't be changed...it is what it is. Is that true, or can it be changed, they just don't know how?
Thanks,
Ray

If i remember correctly i think shibby mentioned the 07's having a rental key that did that....?
See if you can find a thread about 07 changes - think it was in general discussion
Ofcourse having an 06 thats probably not much help to you at all... :/
Maybe pick up a used 07 ecu from someone whos bought an aftermarket one?

THanks for the Reply IAN...No luck on doing a search.
I searched for all kinds of things including 2007 Changes...No luck.
My manual mentions a Rental Key, am I to assume it has a higher RPM limit?

LokiWolf... i got your PM... i will check 06 compatibility with the new feature... but it may only apply to 07 models.
on 07 skis you can have a learning key for 35 mph, a R-key for about 50mph i think, and a regular key for WOT 65ish
i'll see if the 06 skis can be programmed similarly or not while i'm at work tomorrow.

I'm a seadoo dealer also... i know BUDS has a new feature for an R-key... i have the software with me right now. My only question was the compatibility of pre-2007 models with the r-key feature. I am not certain if it supercedes everything, or if it only pertains to 2007 models.
