My CANE is here!!!!
Well my buddy got back from AZ tonight, we had a couple of beers and away I went.
Conrad and I didn't even clean the boat and snapped a couple of quick pictures. We tested the stator (we were told it was bad) and sure enough it's junk, we removed the stator and I'll order an up-date kit tomorrow. Get this, 140 pounds in both cylinders-whoohooo!!

A few more. I was amazed at how clean the machine was for sitting around since 05. I don'tknow the hours as the MFD has been reset but at least it all works!!

Wow,
that opening looks really big. I bet some big iron could go in there!

We started removing the stator at 9:30, it was out by 10:30. I went ahead and removed the cabling all the way from the electrical box. I usually like to cut the cabling outside the box and install some waterproof connectors, I don'tknow why I did it different this time.
You can see the bendix tool I like to use when testing without having to install the entire front cover to keep the bendix in place (photo1).
The flywheel tool IS the best money spent, the flywheel remains locked and no need for undue stress on the piston using the rope trick (photo2).
The puller I LOVE, it's short and stong as hell-the rust was no match for this bad boy (photo3).
I had a harder time getting the screws past the rust and into the flywheel so the puller could do its job.
The flywheel let go with a dismal pop......
For those that are interested, the tools came from Randy at Watcon and they DO work KICK BUTT!!

Yeppers, it's simple it makes you say, "Why the hell didn't I think of that?".
I don't know why but I think I'm going to really like building this one.
I'm going to leave it stock for a few weeks and let Conrad get used to the ride and then start playin'.
