reinstall of SC
I'm getting back my SC tomorrow for my Challenger 180CS. I cannot "see" into the engine block but am assuming that the 16 teeth drive gear fits into a matching gear inside the engine. How will I know the fit is right when I put the SC back in? Thanks for any input.

It should slide in with no problems. Sometimes it requires a slight wiggle.

If the s/c does not go all the way in you might have to stick your finger in the s/c inlet and turn the impeller a little bit so the gear teeth will line up with each other.

The first time I put mine back in I tried pushing it. The o-rings let it break loose all at once and the gears hit. It didn't sound good. After that now once I get it started I tap it with my hand a little at a time till it is all the way in. Don't forget the anti seize.

I use marine grease on the charger stem liberally (o-rings). This will ensure an oil tight seal.
