Ultra 250 died - any ideas?
We were riding hard today for about an hour and then the Ultra wouldn't start. I got it to restart by holding the throttle wide open while cranking. It would start and stumble a little, start to rev up and then die. I took the seat off and when it would start, water would spray into the engine comparment at the back of the motor. I couldn't really see where it was coming from. Any ideas about what might be wrong and/or where the water is coming from?

problem
I'll bet its the hoses off the waterbox, so far itz been a common problem here. Use double clamps on the hoses and some kind of sealant, the one behind the SC is prolly the one. We used muffler clamps to keep em on.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll check the hoses when I get a chance. I took it by the Kawi dealer and they didn't have a clue. I took it back home as they are backed up for over a week. I'll prolly just fix it myself.

get some fogging oil, fire her up, fog the motor and watch for the smoke comming out of the leaking exhaust hose (if it is, in fact the exhaust)

It turned out to be the exhaust hose after all. The motor would run for about 30 seconds and then die because the exhaust was depleting all of the oxygen and snuffing out combustion. When I would take the seat off and look at it, it would restart and run for a little while and then die again when the air got used up. The water was obviously spraying in from the there as well. It was fixed for free under warranty. It was also about a half quart to a quart overfilled with oil.
