Ski 1/2 filled with Water
Had the ski's out this weekend and left them on the buoy all last night. Loaded up and when I was flushing out the motor found that I had several inches of water in the motor and battery compartment. Water was just about level with the battery in the rear compartment. I pulled the plugs and drained the water, hooked the hose up and started motor which ran fine. After draining the water I ran the motor again and could not find any leaks on any hoses. My guess is that I might not have tightened up the plugs enough. Is there anything else I should look for where a leak could come from?

If I fill it up, then let it sit and see where it drains out? Where do I need to be looking to let me know what is leaking?

look at your pump shoe and plate...
also check your intermediate shaft bearing housing.....mine was cut and was leaking into the hull

Check your steering cable. I had one earlier this year that was leaking from there and it took me a while to find.

Guys, today was the first day I have had to get the ski in the water and run it. I ran it and could not see any leaks in the saft housing and nothing seemed to drip into the ski while it sat. So it's my guess that I did leave the bilge plugs too loose and it seaped into that way. But I will still keep a eye out for things.
Thanks for your help.

I was tinkering with the ski last night getting ready to install a bilge pump when I decided to give the "fill the hull" with water a try. Filled up till the water reached the top of the black rubber hose over the shaft tunnel. Water started dripping out.
Emptied out water and started again and filled to just under the rubber pipe and no water leaked out. Pulled 4 bolts from the intake grate out and still no leaks.
Filled water up to over black hose cover again and guess what, drip drip drip.
I started the motor and got a blast of brownish water coming out of the shaft tunnel.
Does this indicate problems at the back of the motor or that the rubber hose is just worn out?
Thanks for any advice.

Under the saft outside the hull. It might just have been what was in the black rubber hose when I loosened it and then retightened it.
