head/cylinder question
If I had 1200 cylinders bored to 1300 specs would a 1300 head fit on them or is the water jackets or bolt holes different?
I've never owned a 1200 so I dont know what they look like.

would that be cheaper than purchasing 1300 cylinders?? if not it wouldn't make much sense to me but maybe you want to run no PV? i'm an EFI fan so just wondering. good question tho!

Actually Im thinking about going 1390 EFI with 1200 PV cylinders with gas valves and wanted to see if I could use my 1300 head and have it cut. However I knew if I asked if I could use a 1300 head on 1200 cylinders I would be told no.

OK, I got my answer from a very good source and it was "NO" the water jackets are different.

I run aftermarket 1300 heads on 1200 cylinders with a 1300 head gasket. No problems.

I have 3 1300 powervalve cylinders with brand new gas valves, the pistons have very little use no color under the domes, brand new rings, head gasket and a milled (150 psi) head for $1500 if your interested. Lowell says he can port them without renicking too. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I paid Fercho $600 for the valves, The head was $100 +150 for milling and the cylinders with pistons were $1000. The rings were about $100 and the head gasket was around $35
You get first option since you let me buy the 1390 kit.

Could you put a 1200 aftermarket head on the bored 1300 cyls (using a 1300 gasket)?
