Sportster Came Out Of The Water Does This Hurt Anything?
I rode my 06 Sea Doo Sportster today solo and it was pretty choppy with some good size swells from all the big boats. I guess I was going a little to fast when I hit a couple of swells and I could here the jet-pump come out of the water sounded like a sliping sound and then I planed it and everything seemed ok. Is this bad for the 155HP Non Super Charged Engines when they come out of the water for a couple seconds? Will this hurt anything? Thanks for any info....

I don't think it will hurt anyhting, you can run your engine on land with no water for short periods and have no problems. I have done the same thing, even with three of us in there. My only concern would be when the water re-enters the pump, load to no-load back to load.

No problem at all to do so,if you'd have a supercharged one, then this is exactly what hurts the ceramic washer real badly, but with a non supercharged one...no problem at all.

Yes; your back and kidneys if you were in rough chop and landing on the crest of the next waves...oh the boat? It could care less, but check things like the storage cover latch and lock for loosening and cooler lid, etc. Everything comes loose on these boats after a few trips through the rough stuff.

I used to jump the oil tanker wakes with my previous Sportster. I've gotten jumps with at least 10 ft of air below me, and never had any issues.

Wow, on an '07...I'm on my original, though the threads are slightly damaged from when I lowered the metal catch in an attempt to keep the lid tighter and get a better seal to the storage area, but I think giving it just a bit of play might be better for it's longevity. I thought about looking for a metal one too, but I think the storage lid will end up taking the abuse instead and end up cracking at the cutout for the latch assembly. $80 a piece is a bit ridiculous though isn't it?

Yup crazy prices. I have a bit on give in my latch which I thought was maybe causing the problem. I ride out at sea and sometimes it gets a bit choppy
I'm waiting to get my supercharger back from Jerry (should be here on Thursday) so I can get back out on the water... I can't wait !!

Yeah you need to get out and enjoy the water before hurricane season begins in earnest, the Gulf and bays are no fun with a tropical system in the neighborhood, except for the guys with the skis.
