So do I buy an 05 or newer and start over, part this one out?. Lots of good parts, this is a Dan Lamey ported 1300, new t-w crank, new 05 pump and dyna, VF3's, new advent, etc. Or find a clean set of used cases and put it together. I found this after 2 weeks of hull repair and all new shoe and plate inserts reinforced with glass and resin.

No brainer:
-Have cases repaired by a professional Aluminum Welder.
or
-Replace the cases.
Why do you believe that the top part of this case is the missing rpms?

Rob do you think this condition existed when you pressure tested the motor recently? before tearing it apart I would perform the test again. What does the front cover look like?

Rob if the cases are not leaking the weld repair is a viable solution it is only structural where it broke. I have a source that can do an excellent job on this. Give me a call

I went to adjust the idle speed and felt air puffing out around the front of the engine, shut it off and had exhaust smoke leaking from that area. The front crank seal is blown out into the flywheel and shredded into a thousand pieces. That explains my lower fuel pressure too, as there is no pulse signal to #1 carb.

Yup, replace the cases. You can usually find a set for $300 or so, if you are careful.
Check your pipe install, and verify nothing was tweeking the front bracket over. Those four front bolts on the pipe mount have to be torqued down in stages... top/front/top/front/top/front...I'm rambling again.
