intake grate height
Is the intake grate supposed to be flush with the pump shoe, or is it ok if it hangs just a little? riva installed mine and i am curious if i am loosing speed from this.

The front part of the grate the two corners should not hang lower than the shoe the back of the intake can hang a little about 20-30 thousands.

I think if you look at the "post one speed trick" tread you will see this talked about.... I machined my grate smooth with the pump!

should i remove material from the bottom of the grate or should i take the grate out and remove material from the shoe. thanks so much for the reply's i love this place!

dont know, the riva guys put it together. maybe i should pull it apart to look at it
