ur expertise on a 99 SLX? -- update, i bought it!
I think i'm gonna buy one... it's cheap, i want a ski to ride and throw around since i'm always working on my other skis and am left with nothing to ride...
is this machine worthwhile? it has a new pump and liner. Also has a new battery....
how quick is the machine as far as acceleration and top speed?
fun machine or a headache time bomb?
any tips and info is appreciated... what is it worth approximately?

Shibs I here that that year SLX is a blast very nimble hull powered by a domestic 1050 very mod-able and fast. I will let others chime in as I have never ridden that year SLX. If the price is right you will have a great time on the Polaris. If not fill me in on the deal.

It's like riding an X-4 Doo on steroids. Small, nimble, easy to toss around, beat you up in the rough kind of ride. The only real issues are with the magneto stators. They are hit or miss. The engine itself is pretty bulletproof and the pumps are nice and easy to work on. An Ocean Pro rideplate is a great addition to that hull.

Yah, it's a blast alright. I'm having a hard time wanting something different.
Not good for long rides in the rough, and not great if you pick up a fragile female either.
Great for large wakes, slow rollers, tail stands, mondo rooster tails, true 360's, tight corners, aggrevating fishermen, torn cartlidge, broken ribs, bloody lip, lost eyewear, and,....OH, the girls that say "That thing looks fun, will you take me for a ride?"
For $2k, it's a good deal. Jump on it!
You won't regret it.

I'm talking $500 bucks here.... lol
i'm just gonna buy it, toss it around for a few months and ride it and let some friends ride it... then maybe sell it in the fall... or maybe keep it, who knows!
will speak with the seller again tomorrow and hopefully get him to hand over the paperwork

Way to go Shibbs,
If you don't want it, bring it to MB next year. I'll take it off your hands.
