pipe????
99 XL 1200 yamaha... pulled pipe {converter?} to service carbs and looks like the honeycone is loose just moving around in the pipe..should I remove it or what..??

You can replace it if you want but most people order a D-plate to keep it from happening. A D-plate takes the place of the cat con.

You can if that is what you want to do. You will suffer a pretty severe performance loss though.

The 2 stroke motor needs that backpressure to function properly. I would suggest removing the converter and replace it with a D-Plate. If the converter is broken like you described its just a matter of time before the ski starts running very poor.

It wont hurt anything until it decides to break up into smaller pieces and wedge itself in the back of the stinger and you have to go back to the ramp at about 20 MPH when you are 20 miles away. Bite the bullet and order the D-plate and sensor chip from the online store here. Be sure to use the greenhulk coupon code to save 10%.

it has a little bit of hesitation out of the hole but runs fine other than that.....thankz for the help

the exhaust temp, has been flashing lately,but it is not hot..you can shut it off start it back and ride the rest of the dayor maybe a week before it goes off again...you think this conv. coming apart has something to do with that?....
