785 RPM??
I have been reading in the posts that you should be getting 7000-7800 rpm on the pro 785....
i got my 97 with 6700 rpm(mfd) at 63 mph(gps)?????
is my mfd wrong or do i realy have more rpm's to find?
my guess is the mfd---maybe time to by "tiny tach"
thanks

Yeah, mine peaks out at 7740-8000, and I get the same speed. Your MFD probably has a bad connection for the RPM's. If you get 63 at those RPM's, that beast would fly at 8000!

I think the MFDs on both my 97 and 98 are whacked too. The 98 (limited class mods) GPsed at 64 last time out, but only showed 7500 RPM on the MFD. That can't be right. I have not taken the 97 our with the GPS yet, but its MFD shows 7400 rpm max, but feels fairly fast for a stock unit. I guess I'll go back to the Tiny Tach too.
I guess the 99-00 MFDs were more accurate. My stock 99 showed 7800 rpm and my 00 limited showed 8100, both of which were very closed to what the Tiny Tach showed.
