Added the UMI today
World of difference. I may end up playing around with my wire routing a little more but today I just wanted to get done and see how it felt.
Much, much better than stock...plus I really like the look it gives the ski.
Certainly a tight squeeze between the hood closing and the handlebars though...
BTW - anybody come up with a nice mounting setup for the mode / set buttons yet? I took a similar route to Jerry but would certainly like to see a bracket along the line of the start/stop/vts setup...
Currently I've got my GPS handlebar setup on there but I'm thinking I really like the look of the GPS hood.
Really wasn't near the hassle I had it made out to be in my head. Only modifications I had to make was a tiny bit of grinding on the top deck so the steering hub would clear and a ever so slight modification ot the air inlet housing that runs from in from of the seat to the 90 degree down into the hull next to the airbox. I had to open a little slot in it to clear the mounting for the throttle cable...It's only temporary though as most of that will be coming out when I change air intakes...Actually took me more time to get the steering aligned and the throttle linkage right than anything...

Dam that looks awesome.
I might have to do this. I put just the handlebars on last night and took them wright back off as I thought it looked cheap.
That looks real NICE.

UMI isn't the best way to go, it's the only way to go.

I was convinced to go with just the bars (the cheap way). All of that changed I saw jerry's setup and this one today and I am going to have to go with the full setup now. LOOKS GREAT!

It's not about the way it looks, it's about the way it feels.

ok, I'll admit ignorance from the start here...
Why does changing the bars make so much difference? Something I have always wondered...

Different seating possition. It moves you further up front of the craft allowing you to control it better and then the angle of the bars just feels better.
