Can somone with a RXT HELP ME
This weekend i sucked up a stick in my 07 RXT so I had to remove the intake grate to get it out, no problem.........since I paid no attention to the grate when removing it.....it looks like it is not seating flush with the bottom of the hull.....just need an opinion ill attach some pics...all the wholes line up and the bolts were easily put back in but there is a gap aroung the rear of the grate

My intake grate sticks down just a little bit maybe 2/3-1/2 of what you have. Did you tighten the bolts equally or did you tighten the front up and then tighten the back up?

Honestly I worked on it after the Bar one night so I probably didnt tighten them equally........I just took it back off and Im gonna remove the excess silicone on the front and tighten all of them equally and see if I can get it closer to what you guys have.......thanks for the help...the forum kicks ace

for future stick-trash-rope removal, take off the jet pump and leave your grate alone. no silcone and no loctite on the bolts to mess with. plus anytime you take a grate off there is a chance of breaking a bolt or stripping threads.

Plus you can hurt yourself if the intake grate drops!
Do a research on intake grates to see what you can do to try and bulletproof this!

some people have used a belt sander (or something similar) to true up the intake grate, personally mine was ok, but I filled that gap with jb weld.

Did u try to put on the front first then the back . Or the back of the grat first and then the front. I noticed mine didint line up untill i played with it a little and took off the stock sillicone in the front bolt. and then i applyed my own sillicone when installing the riva intake.
