XLL 1200 removing pump assy.
Hello all,
This is my first time removing pump assy. trying to get out bolts on grate on bottom and two just turn. Stripped like . Is there a nut on top side? under epoxy? What can i use to remove epoxy?

They are inserts held by epoxy. No nut - you will want to have someone hold the insert from the top with vice grips and you should be able to spin out the bolt.
Replace the insert and set with 3m5200 and you should be all set. I think the torque spec is around 12lbs.
Use heat to remove the big goop if you are lucky it will come off in one big clob.

Thanks A Bunch I Hope To Get This Apart And Change The Impeller And Seal. Eal Is Just Hanging There And This 1200 Caviatates? Big Time But On Plane Runs Out At 50+ Any Other Help Or Info Would Be Great.

thanks for the link. I got the pump assy out and the grates (2) off the bottom. I had a hard time with one of the bolts on the big grate(shoe) if would have read your reply first i could have heated bolts. One is damaged bad where can you get replacement? I'm going back with r&d grate and solas impeller. pump. Thanks again robmc

What a PITA, You guys were right
First saturday off since turkey day... Went to take off the intake pump shoe and ride plate... needless to say getting that epoxy off took a little longer than i thought... used the heat gun till it started smoking, needless to say still came off in small pieces... i have one left (I am taking a little break) and i can get back to positive work and putting the new prop, ppk, intake, and ride plate back on... anyway i went to the local boat shop for the 3m 5200 and they only carry the 3 oz tube... lowes didnt have any... any other suggestions where i could get it locally?

not sure whats near u but west marine has it and so does home depot! usually in the paint section
