Help with Removeing the Driveshaft RXP

Can't figure out how to get the drive shaft out

I was reading that you have to loosen the two clamps holding the CV joint-like boot and move the metal collar in front forHelwards

Is this correct And then a C clip should come out inside this boot area so it will slide forwards...

The metal collar is being stubborn it won't budge. Can anybody help?

leave the pump installed and stand at the back of the ski, if you have no corrosion you should be able to pull the metal collar towards you (after removing the rubber boot) with one hand while popping the c-clip off with a small flat blade screwdriver.

It is a bitch of a job and requires some strength to pull that collar back. Would be easier with the seadoo tool or a second pair of hands to pop that clip off while you pull on the collar with both hands.

Once you get that all done, remove the pump and pull out the drive shaft.

    Here is that pic.

Some forum member suggested bolting the pump back on but putting socket in there. I used a 1/2 socket and put that into the pump where the impeller shaft is supposed to go. And very very lightly put the pump bolts on. I didn't even give it a quarter turn.

that guy was right, it helps to stabilize the pump shaft so it does not move backwards. when trying to take out the c clip.

I tried just the pump itself installed but there was too much slop.

i removed the sticky oil sealer stuff that was on the drive shaft first then just used some a little lubricant in front of the "hat" or collar, gave it a little twist to try to get some of that lube in there.

Then holding the metal colar with the left (shaking and making my face turn red ) I exposed the c clip and used a flat head to pop it off. It was a bear.
