S/C belt tensioner mulfunction!!!
Yesterday I got stuck 6 miles offshore with my ultra. Thank god GODOSIDIS was there to tow back to shore.
The ski was performing ok until it just stop reving above 3000 rpms with no indication or any alarm going on.
The mechanic prognosed that the s/c belt was cut to pieces. He also said that this happend because the belt tensioner wasn't screwed on. Probably from the vibs the main screw that holds it to place had unscrewed. We found everything in the hull.
Now, because we don't have a good kawasaki service shop to where I'm leaving in Greece and I can't seem to find a proper replacement belt I wanted to ask if anyone knows all the specs of the belt so I can replace it with a similar one.
That's all from me and check your belt tensioners!!!!!

Maybe as a precaution you guys should pull the bolt and throw some Loctite on there. Does it have a lock washer?

belt shredded
yesterday my belt shredded into 100 pieces, long strips of rubber and metel, plus some fine dust and clippings. some of the belt pieces burned a whole in my belt cover.....looks like i need to start checking the belt before every ride, just to be safe. now if i can just figure out the total electronic failure at high speed, i'll be good to go

Yep, i got the belt tool on order. Have them checked! If you have the tool, you can slack and check the feel of other parts of the system too.
