How to Remove the Throttle Body
Has anyone tried to remove the throttle body off the intake manifold? I need to clean mine as the plate and shaft are rusting!
I'm assuming, only the 4 torx screws are holding the throttle body to the manifold. Do I need to replace any gaskets once I take them off the manifold? Thanks!

John, you are correct. The 4 screws hold the TB to the manifold. The gasket is reusable so no worries there.

I know this is an old thread but I have 3 questions about the TB
For the RXP some people unscrew their throttle body to get at the exhaust resonator, why is this necessary?
Has anybody removed the screws by hand or did you use a drill? (they're blue loctited so I wasn't sure)
How do you get the little plastic ninja turtle cover shell off the top of the engine to get at the 4th bolt that's holding the throttle body?

I had to use an EZ-out to remove one of the screws on the plate and then replace that screw. It was brass, I think.

guys, i was just kidding about the engine cover turtle shell..
but for the screws.. i made an idiot beginner wrencher mistake..
i undid the screws that hold down the plate where the throttle cable mounts..
I then realized how stupid i was and undid the 4 e-8 torx and got the throttle body out of the way
I continued to try and get the resonator out but no luck.. i tried a few different ways and at one point i had it turned 180° but the vts was in the way..
So now i'm undoing the vts because wiggling out the resonator is easier said then done. (for me at least)
