Clutch wear with RR ECU
What is the clutch wear or failure with the new ECU with the increase in RPM's?

It's at this point one should upgrade their supercharger clutch to 06 specs or purchase the Rotax Racing Heavy Duty clutch kit...
we've never really heard of HD clutches failing, except for a few install issues in the beginning.
it's possible to run your stock clutch, but you'll probably need to add more shims to increase the tension or it might begin slipping with those added RPMS....
i would say almost all of the RR ECU owners upgrade their clutches and never see a problem at all that is clutch related.

Hey Shibby,
I have to disagree there. My RR clutch lasted an hour and twenty minutes.I was talking to Nils about it and he`s had some that didn`t last that long

no kidden Chris... had no clue. We've had good experiences in our shop with the HD clutch and most have on the board with a few in between here and there.
I guess I was trying to convince myself that there was a fix to the crappy design
how many hours do you have on your current clutch CRS?

Tiplick, i would charge you $60 labor for the upgrade.
This would be a complete refurbishment of your SC to 06 specs using this kit:

Its not that hard. You have to slide the waterbox back out of the way and there are 3 bolts holding the SC on.

Shib, got about 4 hours on a set of Les Cooke steel washers. So far so good.

CRS, before you put the supercharger back in, did you check the slip moment of the supercharger with a torque wrench? I am curious what they slip at with Les's clutch discs ...
