2016 Vx Ho 1.8L Sank,, Intake Grate Pulled Down (Like the GP's)

Well my 2016 Vx Ho 1.8L Sank.
Was riding home at 62mph and an 158 error pops on display.
Then a second later the display and the motor shutoff, I pop seat to see water even with the oil filter,,call a buddy for a rescue mission, 15 minutes later when he pulls up ski is as sunk as a yahama can be.
Get towed to ramp, pull ski out on trailer and tons of water drains out of jet intake area..
After today's inspection you can see the intake grate pulled down on the left side about 1/2 of an inch..
I guess its not just the gp hulls that have this issue..
Lets see what the insurance people say..

Way back circa 2016/2017 some of the first reports of intake grate insert failures included the 2015 onwards VXR hulls.

Does your 2016 VX HO have the original NanoXcel or the NanoXcel 2 hull material?
I forget which hull model years had which NanoXcel material

Let us know if this turns out to be the ‘well known’ hull cracking around the four rear bolt inserts for the intake grate, or something else.

Still waiting on insurance..
Not some small little cracks- the whole insert ripped down...

Yea that's some big holes. Impressed you kept it from sinking.

If insured, sinking might have been the best option. I'll add this issue to the list.......
