My 2015 2UP Spark lost some coolant since it was new and had the water pump cover seal replaced with the new green one while still under warranty.
Started losing coolant again two years ago and this summer it got quite bad. I see coolant leaking out through the weep hole in the water pump housing.
No coolant in the oil, so it has to be only the rotary seal on the water pump shaft that is leaking. The service manual says that the oil seal and the rotary seal always have to be replaced at the same time and that the entire magneto cover has to be removed in order to do this. After looking at the exploded views I wonder if not only the rotary seal could be replaced without removing the magneto cover. Does anyone have any experience with this; is it possible to replace only the rotary seal behind the water pump impeller without having to remove the magneto cover?
