2016 Sea-Doo SAR Navy Seal Crafts

I am working on two gifted SAR (Search and Rescue) crafts that were donated to my agency by the Navy (DOD).

When I picked them up, they were completely gutted and missing their inflatable sponsons. I was conflicted to go with the project or scrap the idea.

My community is all for the skis and I am slowly lining up a plan to restore them. I have located a company named dockitjet.com who can fix me up the sponsons.

I next am looking for a donor ski that would have the parts I need for the engine and the propulsion parts. I would prefer a 2016 GTI 155 which would give me the most usable parts to use on the SAR.

If there are any knowledgeable folks on this craft, could you please chime in. I am a small county agency and my budget is small in comparison to most in my area. I want to be a good steward and finish with a fully functional SAR to assist with rescue and recovery on our local waterways.

Here are some photos of the SARís and will have many questions to come. I have always worked on mainly 2 stroke engines with Pwcís and a 4 stroke is new to me.

I am also looking for the computer on this. Would anyone have any ideas where I might find it? I thought it was at the bottom of the hull under the instrument cluster/handlebars. I see now that itís a battery and some relays.

I would also love to locate a GTI 155 ski whether it runs or not. If it has a working engine then that would be great. Otherwise, I will just order a new engine and use the nonfunctional engine as a core.

I have no bolts or brackets except what you see in the photos. So itís necessary to have a complete donor.
I appreciate all your help in advance!
I will keep this thread going so you can see the progress.

    Brad

That will be a fun project! You can get the computer (ECU) and any other factory replacement parts you need for the 2016 GTI 155 on this page of the GreenHulk Store
    https://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche...eadoopwc&a=554

    Here's a direct link to the computer/ECU http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...ducts_id=14282

Hope that helps, and good luck with your project!

Just spoke to Steve Marshall from Dockitjet.com. He is working with me for the floatation Rib kit to increase buoyancy. Very excited about that.

Thanks! I am like a kid in a candy store looking for stuff. Biggest challenge will be to find a donor ski I believe. Iím finding that maybe the 2017 used a different engine and a change to the hull. Not sure if anything older will work or not.

My goal is to have it on the water by spring. (April here).

Try a insurance salvage site like www.copart.com, they often have salvage skis. That are mechanically complete, just structural damage. So they'd be perfect for what your looking for.

My friend I told you before. This is a GTI, GTR, wake 155 hull. You can put what ever power plant you want in it. I would stick with the 155. But you have a wide range of donor skis. Even the 2012-2020 rxpx would work. Just would be supercharged. Find a donor ski and post we will tell you. I would go 155

Thanks for the tip. I didn't see any at this time from Copart but will keep my eyes open for it.
