Best thing you can do for "hole shot" on a 07 RXT?

Iíd like to make the most out of the hole shot and mid range. Are there any Hull modifications I can perform to accomplish this? No real desire to go much over 70. But would like to improve acceleration as much as possible. Can anyone explain the launch control the new PWC use? Are they just keeping the RPM down to avoid cavitation? Whatís the strategy there? DO the ECUís actually monitor slip?

I have to say manually using the trim works better for me on my 19 TX than using the launch control. I just put the nose all the way down and the second I'm hooked up I blip the trim 2X and it goes to the middle position. Then again I don't drag race much.

Appreciate the input, but aside from buying a new Ski… are their any tips/tricks to get a little more out of the 07? This is a “wake” model so I don’t have the trim. I do have a 2* wedge. But if anything, I’d guess that hurts the launch. I did remove the bin from up front for weight savings.

Here's how it works with a PWC....
To improve hole shot and acceleration you must first increase top speed. You said you don't care to go more than 70 mph, but if you want improved hole shot/acceleration your going to need to increase top speed.

Now, if your hole shot is suffering due to cavitation issues then you need to solve that issue. Common issues are a worn out carbon seal, air leak on the pump support, worn wear ring and/or damaged impeller.

Also, installing the Lucky 13 adjustable pump cone greatly reduces cavitation on hole shot and gives better acceleration.

    Hope that helps!

You are correct, the wedge is hurting your hole shot, especially if you don't have trim. It is helping your top speed though.
You can install the trim from a 2008 RXT-X which will help greatly with hole shot and top speed.

Thank you! Def don't mind increased speed. I just assumed you sacrificed one for the other in most cases and I was leaning more towards accel.

I notice that the lucky 13 cones application stops at 2008 255 RXT/RXP. Will this still fit a 2007 215 model?

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can tell you better but I remember back in the day, stainless steel rings worked better than the factory plastic. Less ability to give? Would that help or are the plastic wear rings pretty sturdy? I would definitely think if the stock wear ring is worn, a stainless would help too.

Yes, it works on all 4-Tec skis.
