GP1300R built for Harley Davidson Show - help

Hello, long time reader…first post. I picked up an 06 GP1300R, supposedly it was built specifically for Harley, which they sold at a show. It definitely has a lot of aftermarket parts, previous owner said GPS hit 98 MPH. At the moment, it’s not going anywhere because the middle piston is burned along the edge.

I want to get this rebuilt or potentially do a top end rebuild myself, but I would like to know more about the engine.

Hoping someone may be familiar with this ski…long shot I know, but if someone has any insight I would really appreciate it!

    thanks, Warren

    Welcome.

Some clear photos of the hull exterior, handlebar and controls, the engine bay and the jet pump area might help.

Hull bottom towards the rear too.

Any identifying marks or numbering on the engine?

Alright, thanks all for the interest. Here are some pics. Minor dialogue followed by image:

First, this is middle piston and jug. I'm rebuilding the top end, I think I need to buy a new cylinder or can I have that one repaired?

The ski previously had a wrap. You can see on the cowling, the edge still has the green left.

    Air vents

    Front of ski, gas tank

OEM Oil resevoir and air intake removed.

Handlebars/grips/tachometer. EJK Gen 3 kit in console, dont know much about that.

I've got a bit already taken out, so some of the hoses below may not help. However, there are a bunch of hoses tied into the exhaust differently then stock.

Larger nozzle. Also, the water doesnt shoot up through the nozzle. It shoots straight out the back.

So, all I know is that I'm in over my head, but moving forward anyway. Other things is has stage 2 cam, looks like free flow exhaust and just hoping to get this back on the water again.

    Sweet ride
Theres no cams in a 2 stroke. Only reeds. You can have millennium re plate you cylinder. Or have them all done. Buy Pro X pistons and go have fun. Those extra water li we are for a holeshot kit. The round vents help get more air into the hull.

Thanks for the correction regarding the cam, I think the timing was advanced and that has something to do with a key....?

Is there anything particular with the EJK kit I need to know so I dont do any damage, or as simple as following the instructions?

It could…. Or it may have a race ignition That would be inside the black box.
Download the manual. It’s very useful

The EJK is a tuner for the fuel injection. It might not be a bad idea to either buy new injectors or have your sent out and rebuilt.
