    Yamaha Head casting question

    Does anyone here know how to look at a bare head & know if it's the new 2021+ casting that's supposed to fix the cracking isssue.

    I assume there would be a stamp pad, or number to verify?

    loaded heads
    2014-2015 = 6ET-W009A-00-94
    2016-2020 = 6ET-W009A-01-94
    2021 = 6ET-W009A-02-94
    2022 = 6ET-W009A-20-94

    bare heads
    2014-2020 = 6S5-11102-11-00
    2021 = 6S5-11102-12-00
    2022 = 6S5-11102-20-00

    so 2021 seems like a one off year. So did the change happen in 2021 or 2022. & if 2021 what did they change for 2022?

    Those arrows are part of the cast. And they were made bigger in mid 2020. I am sure Yamaha would not spend the money on new cast's just to make the arrows bigger. I believe that's when the whole head was changed. I have never seen a 'big arrow' head crack. Someone change my mind.

    For those of us who do not have several SVHO cylinder head versions at hand, is there a photo somewhere that shows the different cast arrow sizes?

    The head and clutch were certainly upgraded in 2021. Here are slides provided to me at the Yamaha 2021 press intro of the 2021 model year skis.
