Newbie w/ 1994 SP, cavitation problem
I have recently bought a 1994 SP, 587 jetski. It seems to run ok, but it cavitates alot on choppy water and som e on smooth water. What can I do to lessen the amount of cavitation. I keep hearing things like ride plates and new grates. Please help with how and where to get the correct remedy for this proble,

how's the wear ring?? and the impeller? hows the clearance between the two? if there is too much space between the two it wont work right and cause cavitation. I have the same thing going on with my 93xp and it turns out that half of the wear ring is gone. I didn't notice it at first but I was checking everything out on the ski to go out this weekend and got out a flashlight to look at the impeller and saw that the back half of the ring was gone!
